Actually hailing from Woodstock, NY, Casey Chandler calls himself Galapaghost when he's composing moony folk songs that take us to wildflower meadows in hazy sunshine. Casey's got a bachelor's degree in music production, a feature that clearly separates his songs from most of the distinctly lo-fi artists running around in the Big Apple right now. The tune Human Unkind, posted below, is a slow beauty, with Casey's fine voice expressing his weltschmerz over subtle, ukulele-based harmonies that Neil Young would be proud of.
Chandler hasn't released any albums yet, and he is still unsigned, but Galapaghost's second EP Neptunes, which features Human Unkind, is available now via iTunes or Amazon.
