I've been mentioning them once or twice before: The lovely folks from Let's kiss and make up, a Berlin based collective of pop aficionados devoted to bless this little city with twinkling indie club nights beyond the usual indielectro pabulum that is played more or less everywhere right now. To learn more about them, I'd recommend you read the recent interview with Cloudberry Cake Proselytism right here.
And thank goodness we have them. Yesterday, they very enthusiastically announced their first-ever festival, the appropriately named Let's kiss and make up Indie Pop Days: From September 3 to 5, we're about to experience three days of finest twee/C86 felicity at the beautiful Wasserturm in Kreuzberg.
The lineup is composed of a neat Pan-European indie pop roster with a natural focus on the British Isles, eight bands so far comprising Labrador (Denmark/Berlin), Le Man Avec Les Lunettes (Italy), Leaving Mornington Crescent (Sweden), Lucky Soul (England), Pocketbooks (England), Still Corners (England), The Felt Tips (Scotland), and The Sunny Street (England). If there should be any changes or updates, I'll try to keep you updated.
So even if the weather should stay like this the next three months and you don't have the time or money to travel to a tropical place far far away, at least now you've got something to really look forward to: go mark your calendars for September 3. And until then, make sure you keep your anoraks tidy and clean.
