Introducing: I Blame Coco

2010 could well become the year of I Blame Coco.

Her real name is Eliot Pauline Styler Sumner, which gives us a hint to her rather famous father, an English gentleman and former policeman who once took a walk in the Big Apple and wrote a song about it. Moreover, she is said to be the current or former "lady friend" of tabloid darling Pete aka Peter Doherty. Just in case anyone's interested in that.
Coco has just released her first single, Caesar, featuring Robyn, on Island Records - both not the worst decisions if you're planning on your breakthrough.

Shiny, polished pop with a certain amount of fake anarchy. Lady Gaga, anyone?

The song below is a bit older and actually has not much in common with the single, and I guess it's not very likely that it will appear on the album, at least not in this version. It's closer to traditional songwriting, and rumour has it that the great Pete, see above, has actually written it. In any case, so the saying goes, it is his favourite song of hers. Oh well, please erase the pictures in my head.
