#12 Einar Stray

My days as an intern for No Fear Of Pop are soon coming coming to an end, but I've got one last recommendation from good ol' Norway for you all before I pack up my stuff and leave. I'll stay a little off the electronica genre this time (for once), and instead introduce you to the singer-songwriter Einar Stray from the outskirts of Oslo, whom is also the keyboardist in Moddi's band. Einar Stray's music is as beautiful as the silence itself — almost like moving images of glimmering lights, rain that pours down on the sidewalk and the leaves rattling in the wind. In other words, Stray is a master in making ambience; it's simple, but yet incredibly beautiful. His newer stuff ("Arrows") is a little more indie poppy, however, but honestly I enjoy his more ambient/acoustic tunes slightly better. Can't wait for his debut album next year, but for now you can download his stuff for free from his Urørt profile here.

Anyways, it's been really great writing for No Fear Of Pop throughout these two weeks, and I sure hope that my music selections have been kind to your ears. I'll still be around on The Technicolor Sleep blog though, cause Norway's got more good music in stock for you — just saying.
