Welcome back to the beach. This time though, it's supposedly not a sunny Californian one, but situated rather rimy on the shores of the Great Lakes. No worries, I know this is a sad cliché. The two brothers Evan and Dylan Euteneier from Guelph, Ontario, have formed Mathemagic to express their longing for summery feelings, at least that's just what their music suggests. They (more precisely he, as it was still Evan alone at that time) gained some early props from Transparent, and in the following months their warm and dreamy harmonies stirred up a considerable amount of blog buzzing, and rightly so. Last week, the siblings have finally released their debut Mathemagic EP on Paper Bag Records. It is to be filed next to all those glo-fi/chillwave/hypnagogic pop artists we've been loving so self-indulgently as of late.
The song posted below is one of the EP's tracks remixed by fellow Canucks Memoryhouse, another startling dreampop duo hailing from the northern realms.
